Apply language through purposeful written and oral tasks.
Tasks requiring professional teacher judgment remain teacher-evaluated.
THE SMASH APPROACH
Each theme connects useful vocabulary, applied grammar and communication, taking learners from discovering new language to using it with purpose.
01 / VOCABULARY
Learn useful words and expressions around a theme through engaging visuals, native-speaker audio and interactive activities.
02 / APPLIED GRAMMAR
Practise applied grammar using the vocabulary introduced in the theme. Connected listening, speaking, reading and writing activities help learners use sentence patterns in context.
03 / COMMUNICATION
A level-appropriate situational video models how the theme’s vocabulary and applied grammar come together in a natural conversation. Action-oriented tasks then give learners opportunities to use that language for a meaningful purpose.
All four language skills develop throughout the journey, with practice adapted to each learner’s level. The stages show a learning progression, not separate skill categories. Final communication tasks may require teacher evaluation.
Build it. Practise it. Use it.
WHAT EDUCATORS NOTICE
Structured curriculum
Smash offers complete units—or rather, a complete program—that meets CEFR expectations at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2. The units are very well organized around pedagogical scaffolding to support student success.
Oral development
Smash immerses students in real situations (videos) where native Spanish speakers and students practice both, oral comprehension and oral expression.
Different learners
What I like most is that I can assign the necessary work according to their level of Spanish, not only according to their educational level.
